DANVILLE UNITED METHODIST PRESCHOOL

…known unofficially as Snoopy School, has served the children of Danville and the surrounding communities since 1975. The school offers a two-and-one-quarter hour preschool program for children 3 years old to kindergarten. There are two-day-a-week and three-day-a-week sessions. Using a thematic program, stories, songs, and other activities are related to a weekly theme.

PHILOSOPHY AND GOALS

?  Philosophy is based on concept that play is one of the most effective means of learning for young children.

?  Primary goal is to provide an enjoyable and satisfying school experience for each child.

?  Relaxed, semi-structured environment

?  Aims to allow each child to develop at his/her individual rate.

?  Emphasis on six major areas of development:

SOCIAL -  sharing…cooperating…listening…speaking.

EMOTIONAL - Separating from home, recognizing and accept­ing feelings, developing self confidence and independence, gaining appropriate emotional control for age.

PHYSICAL - Developing large and small muscle coordination and perceptual skills.

INTELLECTUAL - Encouraging sense of discovery and awareness.

CREATIVE - Encouraging imagination, expression, and individuality.

SPIRITUAL - Encouraging love and respect for other children and adults in a Christian setting.

SESSIONS AND TIMES

Group 1:    Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 8:30 am to 10:45 am

Group 2:    Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 11:45 am to 2:00 pm

Age requirement:  Age 4 by August 1

Tuition:  $120.00 per month

Group 3:    Tuesday & Thursday, 8:30 am to 10:45 am

Age requirement:  Age 3 by August 1

Tuition:  $85.00 per month

Group 4:    Tuesday & Thursday, 11:45 am to 2:00 pm

Age requirement:  Age 4 by December 31

Tuition:  $85.00 per month

ADMISSION POLICY

1)   Danville United Methodist Preschool still has a few openings available in the Tuesday/Thursday afternoon class; accepting names for waiting lists for the other classes.

2)   Required at time of registration:

a.     $70.00 non-refundable registration fee

b.    One month’s tuition (amount depends on group)

3)   Acceptance of student enrollment is based on space availability.  Enrollment is granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

4)   After program fills, applicants will be placed on a waiting list.

5)   All students enrolled in the pre-school program must be potty-trained and independent in the restroom.
